The private design plan “Im Farn/Bahnhof” forms the basis for the development of the neighborhood around Niederhasli station. At the municipal assembly on November 28, 2024, voters approved the design plan. Following approval by the Building Department of the Canton of Zurich and the relevant official publication, the provisions of the design plan are now legally binding.

This clears the way for HIAG and SBB Real Estate to further concretize their planned construction projects. HIAG submitted the building applications for the five new residential buildings to the municipality at the end of December 2025. A total of 106 rental apartments and 72 condominiums, each with 2.5 to 5.5 rooms, are to be built in the buildings. For its part, SBB Real Estate is preparing a competitive bidding process for the two new station buildings.

As the municipality is also affected by the design plan perimeter with construction site D, which includes Stationsstrasse with the bus station and turning area, the implementation process will continue in close cooperation with HIAG and SBB Real Estate.
