HIAG is active in the areas of property development, portfolio and asset management as well as transactions. But who are the people behind HIAG? With the new series "3 questions to", a HIAG employee is introduced every month.

Michael Kania works for HIAG as a construction manager.

What are you responsible for? What are your tasks?
As a construction manager, I am responsible for the realisation of various construction projects. These include new construction projects, renovation projects to maintain the building fabric or adaptations of the existing building fabric to the specific wishes of the tenants. The tasks range from classic client representation for larger projects to project management for smaller projects. I advise internally on construction-related issues and am also part of a team that deals with the expansion of photovoltaic systems on the roofs of HIAG-Immobilien, focussing on assessing the condition of the roofs and their structural load-bearing capacity.

What do you particularly like about your work at HIAG?
For me, it's definitely the variety of projects and tasks. No two days are the same and there are always new challenges that help me to progress both professionally and personally. I also like the good mix of office work and working "on the front line" on our sites. You always get to work with a wide variety of people with the aim of achieving great things. Over time, I have built up networks with very great people on the respective sites. The respectful interaction within the HIAG team is also very pleasant. Nobody lets anyone else down and we support each other very well.

What are the biggest challenges in your day-to-day work?
The biggest challenge is not to lose sight of costs, deadlines and quality in the many projects in order to fulfil the high standards that HIAG sets for itself.
