At the southern gateway to the Praille-Acacias-Vernets (PAV) district, ideally connected to the Lancy–Bachet Léman Express station and located at the heart of a major mobility hub, the Porte Sud site holds a strategic position within Greater Geneva area. Situated in the immediate vicinity of the Stade de Genève, the site benefits from excellent accessibility via public transport, the highway network, and the canton’s main road axes.
Description
Formerly an industrial area, Porte Sud has experienced a new momentum over the past several years, driven by HIAG, the sole private owner of the site. By embracing this transitional phase, HIAG has enabled the area to reinvent itself and emerge as an open and vibrant destination dedicated to social interaction and public use. The development of cultural, festive, and sports-related activities has gradually shaped a distinctive identity whose reputation among Geneva’s population continues to grow.
Today, the site hosts a diverse ecosystem, notably anchored by Village du Soir, a major cultural venue since 2016, alongside sports and leisure activities such as Airloop and Airpad, as well as productive functions including Thommen’s recycling operations.
HIAG is supporting Porte Sud through its long-term transformation process within the PAV framework. The site is thus becoming a territory in full transition, a living laboratory for the city of tomorrow, where the uses and lifestyles of the future are already taking shape today.
